An adventure club membership supports:
-
Our growth + evolution.
Since January 2023, we connected with over 400 locals through small group hikes, classes, ski events and kid’s programs. These were a mix of paid and free offerings. The membership model will allow us to continue to offer community events in a more sustainable way.
Members have a voice in planning our adventures. If you have an idea for an event or activity we need in the community - let us know. We will continue to grow and evolve with your support.
-
Our ability to pay staff a living wage.
Behind the scenes our team works hard to implement community outings, year-round. A free, 2-hour community hike takes between 4-6 hours of staff time to facilitate. From operations and marketing the event, to scoping the trail out and guiding the activity - we aim to deliver quality, educational opportunities for locals.
Our small group, community hikes are designed to be thoughtful. As such, our professional guides earn a living wage for their expertise. Guides are paid for all trips led, even those that are free for locals to attend.
-
Permitting.
As a professional guide service we are permitted and insured to recreate within Alaska State Parks, on Mat-Su Borough Trails, and on state of Alaska land. Land management agencies charge an annual permit fee in addition to a per person use fee for commercially guided trips.
A membership covers an individual’s per person fees for our community hikes.
2024 community hikes + events:
Standard monthly events - 1 or 2 events are free for members depending on membership type, $12 each for non-members to attend.

Pop-up “members-only” brainstorming sessions. We’ll dream up adventures, classes and more with members and the Revel team.

In rare instances we may need to cancel a planned club event. We evaluate community hikes and course cancellations on a case-by-case basis. In most instances we will re-schedule as appropriate and communicate with registered participants in a timely manner.
-
It really depends on how many members we have. As our membership continues to grow, we’ll have more capacity to host additional events.
More members = more club events.
For the beginning of 2024 we’re sticking to our 2 standard, monthly events and will reevaluate in the spring depending on our membership numbers.
