“I reached out to Revel prior to heading to Alaska to stay with friends. I am so happy I did! The high expectations I had were blown out of the water and they were a huge part of that. I got to hike Matanuska Peak and they happily arranged a last minute hike for me to Reed Lakes. Kierre and Emily were so amazing! I am so happy I got to see such special parts of Alaska and I learned so much. I can not recommend them enough and will for sure reach out to them again.” - Kristen

Great 6 hours hike with Kierre and Emily! It was the first time I went off-trail - exciting! My guiding team did an absolutely fantastic job, I felt very comfortable and safe and enjoyed every moment of our trip! My dream now is to come back next year and do with the team a few days thing to a higher spot) Definitely recommend the Revel Treks and Tours to all who likes hiking!👍👌- Larissa

Some of our favorite full day hike locations:

Matanuska Peak/Bowl Hike

Just 10-minutes outside of downtown Palmer, the Matanuska Peak trail offers incredible views of Palmer, the Chugach Mountains and the Talkeetna Mountains. Hikers will climb about 2,500’ before reaching what locals call “The Bowl”. This is where the adventure really begins. From the bowl, we have a variety of peaks and ridges to choose from. Your local guide will lead the way, traversing the tundra before meandering back to the trailhead. The Tundra Adventure (small group trip) is not designed to reach the Matanuska Peak summit. If you’re looking for Matanuska Peak climb, this is possible with a private day trip.

Lazy Mountain Hike

Don’t be fooled by the name. This challenging hike is a steep 3,000’ climb up Lazy Mountain. Hikers have a couple options for the route, with variations in length and steepness. Once at the peak we can view the Matanuska River, Pioneer Peak, Matanuska Peak and other prominent features, weather pending.

Hatcher Pass Hike

Hatcher Pass offers a variety of trail and off-trail hiking destinations. Most of our hikes in Hatcher Pass are moderate climbs above treeline. The beauty of climbing above the trees is (weather pending) the non-stop views of scenic landscapes, alpine tundra and Talkeetna mountains. Hikes in Hatcher Pass offer opportunities to find alpine lakes, old mines and more.
