Cold Water Paddling (Pool-based)

When: Monday, June 3

Our course will begin at 6PM and last about 3 hours

Where: We’ll be meeting at the Palmer community pool.

Class cost: Free. This course is offered free the Office of Boating Safety.

Is registration required? Yes. In order to maintain our small group size, we ask that you register in advance. Please email annie.grenier@alaska.gov to register, space is limited.

About the class:  Join the Alaska Office of Boating Safety and Revel for a discussion on Cold Water Survival Skills.

This course will review the following topics:

  • Self Rescues

  • Assisted Rescues

  • Equipment

  • Basic Boat Control

Learn cold water safety and practice skills with canoes, kayaks, and standup paddleboards.

Who should attend this course?

Course is primarily suited for teens and adults but ages 10 and up welcome. Participants should be very comfortable in the water and be able to swim proficiently. Open to all experience levels.
