HIKE FULL, Waitlist only - Lazy Mountain, Free Community Hike: Sponsored by Now Health

Registration is full - please click the button above to join our waitlist.

Hike details are below

Registration required. There is no cost to join us, but we do ask you sign up so we don’t leave any stragglers behind at the trailhead! This event has been made possible by Now Health.

When: Saturday, September 28 at 9AM. We anticipate it will take our group up to 7 hours to complete the hike.

Where: We will be meeting at the Mat-Su Borough, Lazy Mountain Trailhead. Additional details provided upon registering.

What to expect: We’ll be hiking at a leisurely pace for about 6 miles (a little over 2 miles to the summit and a bit less than 4 miles back to the trailhead). Hikers can expect about 3,000' of elevation gain up a very steep and sometimes muddy trail. We will ascend the steep side of Lazy Mountain and descend the Lazy Moose trail. We will hike with two guides for this trip. In the event participants feel uncomfortable pushing to the summit, hikers will have the option to turnaround at the first picnic table.

During our challenging hikes, our groups generally tends to sprawl. This is one of the reasons we opt to bring two guides! With two guides we work to make sure hikers either stick close to our lead guide, still a leisurely pace - or stay in our caboose group at a more leisurely pace.

Can I bring my pup? No. We ask you leave pups behind for this event, thanks for understanding.

Cost: This is a free community event. Thank you Now Health!

A couple other notes: If you need help finding the trailhead or want to contact Revel prior to the event, please contact the team at 907-903-1664.

What to bring:

  • Bring warm layers

  • Bring comfortable boots or shoes to walk in

  • Rain gear (as necessary)

  • Water and snacks as desired

  • Trekking poles (if you have them)

  • Ice cleats (if you have them)

A note on flexibility: The nature of adventuring outside requires some flexibility. We do our best to follow the itinerary as outlined, but we may need to shift plans for a variety of reasons. Safety is our priority and we use our best judgment when making trip adjustments.

Weather: We rarely cancel due to inclement weather. Please bring gear to adventure in the elements. If you need to borrow something, let us know! We have lots of extra supplies and are happy to loan items out if needed.

Will I summit? Revel makes no guarantees that individuals or our group will summit during these adventures. It’s a great goal, but safety remains our top priority. The nature of recreating in Alaska requires flexibility. Weather, wildlife, terrain, injury, etc. can all warrant a shift in plans. Please join our adventures with an open mind.
