From Farm Fields to Glacier Country: Revel’s Summer of Custom Alaska Adventures
Some Alaska adventures begin with a trail map. Others start with a conversation: What brings you here? What are you curious about? How do you want to spend your time together?
Every year, Revel receives more requests for custom adventures. This year was no different, but there are a few itineraries we’re particularly proud to share.
If you’re interested in seeing more detailed versions of the itineraries listed below, or want to see a sample custom Alaska itinerary, please reach out.
We love turning adventure ideas into reality. Below are details on a few of the experiences we helped bring to life this summer.
9-Day Custom Itinerary: Adventure with Purpose
This custom corporate trip was centered around the idea to “stretch”. Stretching visitors outside their comfort zone both physically and mentally… Alaska is the perfect destination to stretch! The itinerary itself brought together many of the things we love to do in Alaska: hiking, kayaking, glacier adventures, and opportunities to connect with the locals and communities along the way.
We built the itinerary with a balance of shared experiences and optional activities that allowed guests to split up at various points during the itinerary. This flexibility was made possible because the 12 guests had two Revel guides with them throughout the trip. Alongside outdoor adventures, the trip included farm visits, local meals, cultural learning, and trail work with Alaska Trails.
One of our favorite parts about this itinerary? The trip supported more than 40 small Alaska businesses. From guides and lodging hosts to restaurants, farms, and presenters, a whole network of local people helped shape the experience.
This trip was a dream trip for the Revel crew and we hope to incorporate more “adventures with purpose” into our calendar in the coming years.
Women’s-Only: Alaska Hiking Retreat
This summer, we also worked with a travel agent to create a five-day, women-only hiking package. This trip was based in the Mat-Su and guests loved staying at Stillwater Cottages in Wasilla.
In addition to helping craft the itinerary, Revel provided three female guides each day. The trip centered on adventure, connection, and opportunities to take on new challenges. With a range of hiking abilities within the group, our guides adapted routes and pacing in the field to help each guest enjoy a rewarding experience.
We loved planning an adventure that brought women together for challenging hikes in Alaska.
A Family Adventure: Glacier Hut Adventure to Comfort on the Kenai
A September family trip offered another opportunity to create something personal. This itinerary paired a remote stay at the Alaska Glacier Hut in the Chugach Mountains with time along the Kenai River at Drifters Lodge.
This multi-generational family crew was looking for a mix of wilderness and comfort. Pairing a hut stay with a lodge stay was a dream combo.
Activities included backcountry exploration, glacier trekking, fishing, hiking, and relaxation. The family had two guides for the duration of the trip, which allowed family members with different interests to enjoy their own adventures while coming together for quality time each evening.
We loved creating an itinerary with time to explore together, options to branch out, and space to settle into each destination.
Coordinating multiple arrival dates presented an interesting logistical challenge. Our solution? Part of the family traveled to the hut by fixed-wing aircraft, while the final family member arrived by helicopter, thanks to Heli Alaska.
Private Farm Tours: A Closer Look at Palmer
Closer to home, our private farm tours gave guests a chance to learn about the agricultural side of the Mat-Su while giving back to farmers in the community.
Throughout the summer, we shaped these experiences around each group’s interests, bringing together farm visits, tastings, conversations with local growers, and stories about Palmer’s history. Farm tour stops included Sauntering Roots, Singing Nettle, Moonstone Farm, and the Rebarchek Farm on the Alaska State Fairgrounds. Each farm tour included a historic walking tour of downtown Palmer and a tasting at a local brewery or kombucha shop.
These tours reflect Revel’s belief that tourism should give back to the local community. We’re excited to work with more farm partners in 2027.
We’re grateful to the farmers and hosts who welcomed our guests and shared their knowledge this season.
Different Itineraries, Shared Connections
A multi-day expedition, a family getaway, a women-only hiking retreat, and an afternoon visiting farms offer a glimpse of the varied itineraries Revel crafted in 2026. Each begins with the same care: understanding our guests and shaping an experience around them.
For Revel, custom travel starts with listening. We spend time learning about your interests, preferred pace, and trip priorities, then work with our guides and local partners to build an itinerary around them.
Thank you to everyone who explored with us this summer, and to the many partners who helped make these trips possible.
Thinking about Alaska in 2027? Whether you’re imagining a private day tour or a multi-day adventure, we look forward to bringing your adventure dreams to life.
