About the hike and what to expect: This afternoon walk/hike is designed for more 'seasoned' hikers. We'll be moving at a leisurely pace, chatting along the way. Hikers can expect to adventure for about 2 hours - sometimes these events are bit less, sometimes these activities are a bit more. Our objective is rarely a specific destination - but more about enjoying time in the outdoors.

The trails at Settlers Bay Coastal Park are part of 295 acres of land that were donated to the Mat Su Borough by the Greatland Trust as a conservation easement. The first formal trails started to be built in the summer of 2019 with more trails being added over the next few years. The long-term plan calls for easy gravel paths, mountain bike single track, and Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant trails. The borough grooms these trails during the winter as snow conditions allow.

Can I bring my pup? No. For this particular event, we ask folks to leave pups behind. Thanks for understanding!

Parking: Please note participants are responsible for paying any relevant parking fees.

If you need help finding the trailhead or want to contact Revel before the event, please contact the team at 907-903-1664.

What to bring:

  • Comfortable & warm tennis/trail shoes or hiking boots

  • Warm layers

  • Rain or snow gear (as needed)

  • Ice cleats (as needed)

  • Winter gear (hats, mittens, scarves, as needed)

  • Water and snacks as desired

A note on flexibility: The nature of adventuring outside requires some flexibility. We do our best to follow the itinerary as outlined, but we may need to shift plans for a variety of reasons. Safety is our priority and we use our best judgment when making trip adjustments.

Trip minimums: We require a minimum of 2 registered participants to run our community trips. In the event we do not meet our trip minimum your guide will call you the evening prior to our trip departure. In the event we need to cancel a scheduled event due to low sign ups, participants will receive a full refund or credit towards a future event. Adventure club members are able to receive a credit towards future Revel events.

Weather: We rarely cancel due to inclement weather. Please bring gear to adventure in the elements. If you need to borrow something, let us know! We have lots of extra supplies and are happy to loan items out if needed.

Does Revel host any free community hikes? Yes! We are offering quarterly, free community hikes. We also have free events that have been made possible through partnership and sponsorships. Be sure to check our events page for our most current offerings.
