When: Friday, March 24. Doors open at 5:30PM. Activities will start at 6PM at Meier Lake Resort.
Event Description: Revel Treks and Tours is collaborating with Bleeding Heart Brewery and the Eagle River Nature Center to offer a weird and wonderful evening on all things beers and bears at Meier Lake.
What to expect: This event is an opportunity to learn about bear ecology, bear habitat, bear safety and more. Samantha Blumenkönig (Eagle River Nature Center) will lead the discussion on bear education. We will interrupt bear learning periodically throughout the evening for a ‘beer/bear’ connection. Stefan Marty (Bleeding Heart Brewery) will offer tastings and some light beer education about the beverages sampled. Attendees will have the option to select a non-alcoholic beverage option when they purchase tickets. Please note, non-alcoholic beverages will not be part of the pairing.
The beer and bear connections will be loose, and we ask that you come to the event with an open mind. It’s simply an opportunity to learn about bears and drink a bit of beer. We take bear safety seriously, but hope a lighter approacher to learning about it offers a new perspective.
Ticket price includes four (4) BHB tastings, must be 21 & up for tastings.
Is the event inside or outside? The evening will incorporate various bear learning stations, both inside and outside at the Meier Lake property, weather pending.
Total walking/outside time (conditions pending): We anticipate being outside less than 1 hour.
What if the weather is bad? In the event the weather is bad, we will utilize the large gathering space at the Meier Lake facility and shift all activities indoors. Evening will end in the large gathering space for conversation and Q&A.
Event time: Activities will finish between 7:30-8PM, total event time is 1.5-2 hours.
Where: Meier Lake Resort
Cost: $45 per person
Registration: Register here.
What to bring: Bring your I.D., warm layers, a headlamp, water and snacks as desired. Depending on conditions, ice cleats may also be beneficial. We will report trail conditions to attendees a day or two prior to the event.
Are pets allowed: Since this event is a course format, we’re asking folks to leave four-legged friends at home. We’ve got other events that are pet friendly, so stay tuned.
