Ladies Night Out(doors) - March Ski or Winter Hike

Registration not required, but registering ensures we can communicate any updates about weather, trail conditions, etc. with you prior to the event.

When: Wednesday, March 15

Where: We will be meeting at the Wendt Rd. trailhead at the base of Hatcher Pass

How to get there:

  • Take Trunk Road, or drive through Palmer, to get to the Palmer-Fishhook Road.

  • Drive north on the Palmer-Fishhook Road towards Hatcher Pass.

  • Keep going until you see Turners store. Slow down and turn right onto Sun Valley Dr. before the store. Drive slowly through the neighborhood, around the curve, then turn right onto Wendt. Drive to end of road.

Check out the Mat-Su Ski Club map here.

What to expect: We will be offering two activity options this month. Ladies can opt to cross country ski or walk.

About the walk: This will be a mellow walk/hike along rolling terrain. The trail is generally packed from snow machine traffic. We will be doing an out and back walk. Expect to walk for about 1.5 hours.

About the ski: This will be a beginner/intermediate ski. The trail cross portions of snow machine trail and groomed cross country ski trails. Conditions in this area vary, so come with an open mind! There are some moderate hills (going both up and down). If hills aren’t your jam - you can always take skis off and walk sections you aren’t comfortable skiing. Expect to ski for about 1.5 hours. If you need help coordinating ski rental, please contact Kierre at 907-903-1664.

Cost: This is a free community event.

A couple other notes: If you need help finding the trailhead or want to contact Revel prior to the event, please contact Kierre at 907-903-1664.

What to bring: Bring warm layers, a headlamp, water and snacks as desired. Depending on conditions, ice cleats may also be beneficial.

About Ladies Night Out(doors): Explore a local trail/area in the company of women! We hope these events will bring together women who are new to hiking and adventuring (or new to the area) with women who have some experience with outdoor adventuring. If you’re a seasoned adventurer open to mentoring a newer hiker or a new hiker looking for an outdoor mentor - let us know :)
