When: Thursday, March 9. We will start our hike and class at 6pm from the Reflections Lake trailhead.
Class Description: While lush leaves can offer helpful clues for tree identification during summer months, can you spot a birch tree from an aspen when the branches are bare? Join naturalist Ute Olsson on an educational walkabout, learning about the boreal forest along the way.
Where: Reflections Lake
Cost: $20. Kids 12 and under are free.
If cost is a barrier to attending, please contact us at info@revelak.com
Registration: Register here.
What to expect: The Reflections Lake trail is a 1.1 mile loop trail around Reflections Lake, just north of the Knik River. The trail is mostly flat, but can be icy during winter months. About halfway through the loop there is a viewing deck with 360 degree views of the surrounding valley and hay flats.
What to bring: Bring warm layers, a headlamp, water and snacks as desired. Depending on conditions, ice cleats may also be beneficial.
Are pets allowed: Since this event is a course format, we’re asking folks to leave four-legged friends at home. We’ve got other events that are pet friendly, so stay tuned!
