Doors open at 6PM. Our course will begin promptly at 6:30PM and last about 1 hour.
Where: We’ll be meeting at the community conference room in the Mat-Su Health Foundation building.
Class cost: FREE. This course is offered free the Alaska Office of Boating Safety.
Is registration required? Yes. This classroom session can host a max of 25 participants, so we ask that you register in advance.

We will cover the three stages of cold-water immersion:
How your body reacts to cold water the physiological stages
Emergency communication and signaling devices
Life Jacket law and the different types of life jackets available
This class is open to participants of all ages. Attendees will leave with a basic overview of cold water survival skills and tips and trips to consider when navigating Alaska’s chilly waters.
