Registration required. There is no cost to join us, but we do ask you sign up so we don’t leave any stragglers behind at the trailhead!
When: Tuesday, October 24, 1pm-3pm
Where: We’ll meet at the Matanuska River bridge on the Old Glenn Highway and plan to walk about 1.5 hours.
About the hike and what to expect: We will hike/walk for about 1.5 hours along the winding Matanuska River Park trails. The total elevation gain is no more than 500 feet depending on which trails we take. The trail system has some rolling hills that we will be walking up and down but there are also some relatively flat areas.
Can I bring my pup? No. For this particular event we ask folks to leave pups behind. Thanks for understanding!
Cost: This is a free community event.
What to bring: Bring warm layers, winter gear (if necessary-hats, mittens, scarves), rain gear (if necessary), ice cleats (if needed), a headlamp, water and snacks as desired. We have lots of extra gear if you need to borrow anything.
A note on flexibility: The nature of adventuring outside requires some flexibility. We do our best to follow the itinerary as outlined, but trail conditions, wildlife, etc. can all impact our plans. Please know if we need to shift plans your guide will communicate with you in a timely manner. Safety is our priority and we use our best judgment when making trip adjustments.
Weather: We rarely cancel due to inclement weather. Please bring gear to adventure in the elements.
