CLASS FULL: Disc Golf 101: Family-friendly, beginner class at the Elk Ranch

When: Saturday, June 29

Our course will begin at 2PM and last a couple hours.

Where: We’ll be meeting at the Northern Lights Elk Ranch by Government Peak Recreation Area.

Group Size: No more than 10 learners total

Class cost:

  • Course fees are $25 per person

  • Courses fees are $20 per person for Adventure Club members

Is registration required? Yes. In order to maintain our small group size (max 12 participants) we ask that you register in advance.

About the class: 

Have you been interested in trying disc golf, but weren't sure where to start? During this 2-hour course we'll review the basics of putting, driving (backhand), disc selection, and shot shaping - all basic skills needed for disc golf.

Participants will learn standard grips and when to use them, disc terminology, flight numbers, and the basic forms used while playing a round of disc golf. This is a beginner friendly course, all ages are welcome. All equipment and gear is provided.

Join Brad from Northern Lights Elk Ranch for a short course on disc golf. No equipment needed!

About Brad Cook:

Brad has been an avid disc golfer for over 20 years. He has played competitively in the highest division (Open) for the past three years and many years in lower divisions prior to that. Brad fell in love with the sport during the first round he ever played, and has traveled all over the country playing amazing courses. Brad enjoys teaching new players about the ins and outs and hopes to help participants fall in love with the sport.

We'll learn about:

  • Disc golf terminology

  • Different types of disc golf gear

  • Different disc golf strokes
