Matanuska Electric Association partner supporter: This event is in partnership with Matanuska Electric Association (MEA). MEA adopted this city park and helps manage the 47 different tree species there. Participants will receive a small backpack, tree coloring book and other goodies from MEA. Thanks MEA!
Are parents/guardians required to attend? Yes. At this time our program requires a parent or guardian to be present during youth workshops. Parents are welcome to use the workshop time to socialize amongst themselves.
About Dylan: Dylan, who originally hails from New England, has been working, studying and living in Alaska for 2 years now. She is currently a graduate student studying outdoor and environmental education at Alaska Pacific University as well as an outdoor science school teacher at the Kellogg F.I.E.L.D School on Alaska Pacific University's Palmer campus. What if the weather is bad?
Great question. We generally don’t cancel trips due to inclement weather. We bring gear for the elements and have plenty of extras if you need to borrow something. If there is concern for safety and we need to adjust the trip, we will reschedule and notify participants in a timely manner.
Do you offer scholarships or payment plans?
Yes and yes! Anyone can apply for a scholarship here. Additionally, if you’d like to set up a payment plan (for no additional fee) please reach out.
