EVENT FULL: Waitlist Only, Ladies Only: Intro to Snowshoeing

  • Goldmint Trailhead Palmer, AK 99645 (map)

When: Saturday, January 13 from 1PM-3PM

Where: Goldmint Trailhead in Hatcher Pass

About the snowshoe and what to expect: For this intro snowshoeing hike, we will help you strap on snowshoes and then go float on the snow. We will start on Goldmint Trailhead for a bit so people can get used to walking in snowshoes on more of a packed surface. We will then get off trail and start trudging around and playing in the snow so you can experience the real feeling of floating in the snow. We will cover approximately 2-3 miles of total snowshoe hiking.

Can I bring my pup? No. For this particular event we ask folks to leave pups behind. Thanks for understanding!

Cost:

  • $25 if you have your own snowshoes

  • $40 if you need to rent a pair

Please note participants are responsible for paying any relevant parking fees. This trailhead is an Alaska State Parks trailhead.

A couple other notes: If you need help finding the trailhead or want to contact Revel prior to the event, please contact the team at 907-903-1664.

What to bring:

  • Bring warm layers

  • Bring comfortable boots or shoes to walk in

  • Bring a headlamp (we have extras you can borrow if needed!)

  • Winter gear (hats, mittens, scarves)

  • Rain gear or snow gear (as necessary)

  • Water and snacks as desired.

A note on flexibility: The nature of adventuring outside requires some flexibility. We do our best to follow the itinerary as outlined, but we may need to shift plans for a variety of reasons. Safety is our priority and we use our best judgment when making trip adjustments.

Weather: We rarely cancel due to inclement weather. Please bring gear to adventure in the elements. If you need to borrow something, let us know! We have lots of extra supplies and are happy to loan items out if needed.

Is Revel still hosting any free community hikes? Yes! We are offering quarterly, free community hikes. We also have free events that have been made possible through partnership and sponsorships. Be sure to check our events page for our most current offerings.
