Ladies’ Night Out(doors): Hatcher Pass Road to Summit Lake

Adventure Club members can attend this event as one of your free monthly adventures

When: Thursday, June 5, 2025

Time: 5:45PM-9:00PM (approximate end time)

Please arrive at the trailhead between 5:45PM and 6PM. We will begin our hike promptly at 6PM. Please note that there is limited cell service in this area. We will be meeting at a small parking area (approximately here).

*This event repeats at different trailheads on the first Thursday of each month*

Where: Hatcher Pass is an Alaska State Parks-maintained recreation area.

What to expect: We will hike at a leisurely pace and stick together as a group. Hikers can plan to stop for water breaks and educational opportunities throughout the adventure. This is an out-and-back hike.

🥾 Mileage: Approximately 4 miles (2 miles to summit lake, 2 miles return)

🥾 Elevation Gain: About 1,000 feet

🥾 Estimated Hiking Time: About 3 hours

We will hike at a leisurely pace and stick together as a group. Hatcher Pass Road generally doesn't open for car traffic until late June. We'll take advantage of the quiet pre-season and take a jaunt up to Summit Lake.

What to bring:

  • Comfortable tennis/trail shoes or hiking boots

  • Ice cleats (we recommend Kahtoolas - they are available for purchase at AKtive Soles).

  • Warm gear (hats, mittens, scarves)

  • Rain gear

  • Water and snacks as desired

A note on flexibility: The nature of adventuring outside requires some flexibility. We do our best to follow the itinerary as outlined, but we may need to shift plans for a variety of reasons. Safety is our priority, and we use our best judgment when making trip adjustments.

Trip minimums: We require a minimum of 2 registered participants to run our community adventures. If a scheduled event is canceled due to low sign-ups, participants will receive a full refund or credit towards a future event. Adventure Club members can receive a credit towards future Revel events.

Weather: We rarely cancel due to inclement weather. Please bring gear to adventure in the elements. If you need to borrow something, let us know! We have lots of extra supplies and are happy to loan items out.
