Free, Pop-up Community Hike, Crevasse Moraine

  • Crevasse Moraine North Loma Prieta Drive Gateway, AK, 99645 United States (map)

This is a free community event. Thanks Adventure Club members for your continued support!

When: Monday, March 17 at 5:45PM

Please arrive at the trailhead between 5:45PM and 6PM. We will begin our hike promptly at 6PM.

*This event repeats at a different trail on the third Monday of each month during the winter*

Where: Crevasse Moraine trailhead. This is a Mat-Su Borough trailhead.

About the hike and what to expect: This is a moderately challenging hike. Hikers can expect rolling hills on old glacial moraines. During late winter, the trail conditions at Crevasse Moraine can become quite icy. We highly recommend ice cleats.

We will hike approximately 3-4 miles at a leisurely pace. We'll take breaks along the way.

After the event, we’ll enjoy hot drinks at the trailhead.

Event fees: This is a free community hike. Huge thanks to our Adventure Club members who help support our work.

Parking: Please note participants are responsible for paying any relevant parking fees.

Can I bring my pup? No. We ask folks to leave pups behind. Thanks for understanding!

A couple other notes: If you need help finding the trailhead or want to contact Revel before the event, please contact the team at 907-903-1664.

What to bring:

  • Comfortable and warm trail shoes or hiking boots

  • Warm layers

  • Hat, gloves, and winter buff

  • Spikes (if you have them)

  • Trekking poles (if you have them)

  • Water and snacks as desired

A note on flexibility: The nature of adventuring outside requires some flexibility. We do our best to follow the itinerary as outlined, but trail conditions, wildlife, etc. can all impact our plans. Please know the team will communicate with you if we need to shift plans.

Trip minimums: We require a minimum of 2 registered participants to run our community adventures.

Weather: We rarely cancel due to inclement weather. Please bring gear to adventure in the elements. If you need to borrow something, let us know! We have lots of extra supplies and are happy to loan items out.
