Winter Speaker Series: The Dynamic Matanuska Valley, Glaciers & Rivers

When: Monday, December 4. Doors open at 5:30PM. Presentation begins at 6PM.

Where: We’ll meet at 203 Kombucha for an after hours event.

About the presentation: Much of the Matanuska Valley has been formed and reworked by the constant activity of glaciers and rivers.  Evidence of historical and current activity will be discussed and locations where you can easily observe the results as you trek through the valley.  

About Joe Moore: Joe Moore is a retired Soil Scientist and long time Palmer resident.  He has studied soils, vegetation and landforms across Alaska for the last 40 years.  

Cost to attend: Our speaker series are donation-based/pay what you can events. We do not want cost to be a barrier for community members to attend. Funds collected will cover Revel staff time and expenses for the event.

What is the winter speaker series? Revel is hosting monthly educational lectures/presentations November 2023 through April 2024. Each month features a different topic with the goal of connecting locals to the area where they live.
