Cross Country Ski Social: Beginner Friendly

  • Archangel Road (Winter Access) Palmer, AK United States (map)

Adventure Club members can attend this event as one of your free monthly adventures.

When: Monday, Feb. 3 at 5:45PM

Please arrive at the Archangel trailhead between 5:45PM and 6PM. We will begin our ski promptly at 6PM.

*This event repeats at a different trail the first Monday of each month*

Where: Archangel Road in Hatcher Pass

About the ski and what to expect: We’ll be skiing at a leisurely pace for 2-4 miles (conditions pending). The terrain is a mellow, groomed trail with some rolling hills. This is a great chance to test cross-country skiing if you're new to the sport.

We will review skiing basics and then offer resources for those who decide it's a winter activity they'd like to pursue in more depth. If you're a more experienced skier, consider joining and partnering with a new skier at the event.

After the event, we’ll enjoy hot drinks at the trailhead.

Event fees:

  • Adventure Club members may attend this event as part of their free, monthly events.

  • First-time attendees may attend this event for free.

  • All others guests, $12 per person to join this event. If you are interested in a scholarship, please fill out our short form using the button below.

Parking: Participants are responsible for paying any relevant parking fees.

Can I bring my pup? No. We ask folks to leave pups behind. Thanks for understanding!

A couple other notes: If you need help finding the trailhead or want to contact Revel before the event, please contact the team at 907-903-1664.

What to bring:

  • Bring warm layers that you feel comfortable moving in

  • Bring skis, boots, and poles (we recommend Backcountry Bike and Ski if you need to rent gear)

  • Bring a headlamp (we have extras you can borrow if needed!)

  • Winter gear (hats, mittens, scarves)

  • Rain gear or snow gear (as necessary)

  • Water and snacks as desired

A note on flexibility: The nature of adventuring outside requires some flexibility. We do our best to follow the itinerary as outlined, but we may need to shift plans for a variety of reasons. Safety is our priority and we use our best judgment when making trip adjustments.

Trip minimums: We require a minimum of 2 registered participants to run our community trips. If we do not meet our trip minimum, your guide will call you the evening before our trip departure. If a scheduled event is canceled due to low sign-ups, participants will receive a full refund or credit towards a future event. Adventure Club members can receive a credit towards future Revel events.

Weather: We rarely cancel due to inclement weather. Please bring gear to adventure in the elements. If you need to borrow something, let us know! We have lots of extra supplies and are happy to loan items out if needed.
