Ladies Night Out(doors) - January Social Ski for Beginners

  • Archangel Road Palmer, AK (map)

When: Thursday, January 4 at 5:30PM

*This event repeats monthly on the first Thursday*

Where: We’ll meet at the Archangel parking lot and ski for 1.5-2 hours.

New in 2024, event fees:

  • Adventure Club members may attend this event as part of their 1 or 2 free, monthly events. Learn about the club here.

  • First-time attendees may attend this event for free. When you register please select “first-timer”.

  • All others guests, $12 to join this monthly event. If you are interested in a scholarship, please complete our short form here.

About the ski and what to expect: We’ll be skiing at a leisurely pace for 2-4 miles (conditions pending). The terrain is a mellow, groomed trail with a couple rolling hills. This is a great chance to test out cross country skiing if you're new to the report. We will review skiing basics and then offer resources for those who decide it's a winter activity they'd like to pursue in more depth. If you're a more experienced skier, consider joining and partnering with a new skier at the event.

Can I bring my pup? No. For this particular event we ask folks to leave pups behind. Thanks for understanding!

Cost: Please note participants are responsible for paying any relevant parking fees. This trailhead is an Alaska State Parks maintained trailhead.

A couple other notes: If you need help finding the trailhead or want to contact Revel prior to the event, please contact the team at 907-903-1664.

What to bring:

  • Bring warm layers that you feel comfortable moving in

  • Bring skis, boots and poles (we recommend Backcountry Bike and Ski if you need to rent gear)

  • Bring a headlamp (we have extras you can borrow if needed!)

  • Winter gear (hats, mittens, scarves)

  • Rain gear or snow gear (as necessary)

  • Water and snacks as desired.

A note on flexibility: The nature of adventuring outside requires some flexibility. We do our best to follow the itinerary as outlined, but we may need to shift plans for a variety of reasons. Safety is our priority and we use our best judgment when making trip adjustments.

Weather: We rarely cancel due to inclement weather. Please bring gear to adventure in the elements. If you need to borrow something, let us know! We have lots of extra supplies and are happy to loan items out if needed.

Is Revel still hosting any free community yes? Yes! We are offering quarterly, free community hikes. We also have free events that have been made possible through partnership and sponsorships. Be sure to check our events page for our most current offerings.

About Ladies Night Out(doors): Explore a local trail/area in the company of women! We hope these events will bring together women who are new to hiking and adventuring (or new to the area) with women who have some experience with outdoor adventuring.
